The pickle ornament is claimed to be a german tradition 8although it is not German).. a glass pickle ornamnet is hidden amongst all other ornamnets.. It is to bring good luck for the entire year to the person who finds it..If a child finds it, he/she will recieve an extra treat and his/her family will receive the luck for the year.
